Unai Emery and arsenal blew psg away with an impressive 5-1 thumping of French champions in ICC playoff
Unai Emery got his first win as an arsenal manager as they put five goals past a much younger psg side at the ICC playoffs. Goals from mesut Özil (13′) , Alexander lacazette (67′ , 71′) , holding (87′) and Nketiah (90′) gave the north Londoners the win.
Arsenal fielded a much stronger side as opposed to their opponent. Mesut Ozil, bellerin, Alex iwobi, aubameyang ,papasthapolos , Henrik mhkitaryan amongst others all featured in unai Emery’s 4-2-3-1 formation.
ARSENAL LINE UP (4-2-3-1)
PSG LINE UP (4-3-3)
The new arsenal boss who had earlier expressed his say on his preferred 4-1-4-1 formation opted for a different one this time as they walked their way past psg. Mesut Ozil was the first to put one past the new psg signing G. Buffon as the midfielder showed no signings of worries from Germany retirement. Arsenal then squandered chances upon chances and were made to pay as Timothy Weah won a penalty from Sead Kolasinac, and Christopher Nkunku converted in the 60th minute.
Arsenal then upped the tempo of the game beyond the reach of a young psg side. A quick brace from Alexander Lacazette set the gunner on the path to victory with a flick off the crossbar and a decisive header four minutes later before R. Holding’s headed in from a corner and Young Nketiah finished off a swift break in the 87th and 90th minute.
The win was the first and hopefully of many for the new arsenal manager Unai Emery who has set the path right as they prepare to challenge for the trophy next season.
