Arsenal beaten by atletico on penalties as Unai Emery takes charge

Arsenal were beaten by Spanish team atletico Madrid in their first ICC fixture. The gunner started brightly in the first half but still found themselves a goal down from Luciano Vietto’s fine header by half time. A string of substitutions usually seen in fixtures such as this slowed down the game but arsenal found a way as young Smith Rowe darted in between two Atletico players before firing into the top corner past Adan to level the game which they eventually lost (3-1) on penalties.

It was unai Emery first game in charge and the manager has been giving a glimpse of what his arsenal team looks like. The manager now has a task to figure out the perfect tactical approach for his team.

Lacazette once again found himself wanting in front of goal as he failed to find the target. The manager’s first task at the club would most definitely involve fixing the goal scoring issues. The new boss has a job to figure out an efficient way to feature ruthless striker Aubameyang and Lacazette in the team or otherwise a better tactical approach to solving their drought of goals.

Among positives however was young smith Rowe who should glimpses of a better future at the club and the manager will do well to harness the newly found talent to help the team better.
