Wolverhampton are definitely going one better when it comes to the Premier League top six clubs, and in the midweek, it was Chelsea‘s turn to taste the tales as Maurizio Sarri‘s London blues fell to a bitter defeat against wolves.
Chelsea looked to have the game under control as Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s deflected 19th minute goal gave Chelsea the lead. However, they were unable to hold out for long as Wolves fought back after the break and Chelsea found themselves behind thanks to two goals in the space of four minutes from Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota.
The loss sees chelsea trail table leaders Manchester City by ten points in 4th place and Maurizio Sarri’s team seems to be slowly slipping down the table with two losses now, leaving City and Liverpool as the only two unbeaten sides.
Despite not having the best of streak runs of recent, Wolverhampton were the first and one of the only two teams to hold off Manchester City in the Premier League, held Manchester United, came really close against Tottenham Hotspur (2-3), held Unai Emery‘s Arsenal and have now successfully beaten Chelsea.
It’s definitely not been a completely bad first season back in the Premier League for the wolves who are currently sitting 12th on the league table after a streak of defeats and considering the record Nuno and his Wolverhampton team has against Premier League top six clubs so far this season.
