Ernesto valverde has ruled a move for Neymar Jr as unlikely but not impossible with the rumours of a return already in circulation
After just breaking the world transfer record by moving to Psg, Neymar Jr has now been linked with a move back to his old club and Barcelona doesn’t seem to completely disapprove on the matter.
Neymar’s move from Barcelona was rather unforseen at first but Psg shocked the world when they broke the bank to activate Neymar’s £222m release clause which eventually saw him move to the French capital.
Barcelona head coach deems the rumours of a return to Barcelona unlikely, but didn’t completely rule of the possibility of the move in the near future.
“Any time of the season is good for thinking about these issues, but Neymar plays for a different team. This is all speculation,”
“It’s not even in a transfer period at the moment, so I can’t talk about a player and it’s not something that’d happen in the next month or so anyway.”
“Anything can happen in football, but it’s hard, unlikely. I don’t know, we’ll see.”
Contrary to rumours and popular talks, Neymar Jr has been phenomenal for Psg since arriving. The brazilian has formed an impeccable partnership with Kylian Mbappe which has seen psg excel and probably impossible to beat in the French league. The Brazilian star has scored 27 goals and set up 16 in 28 Ligue 1 matches.
Neymar Jr moving to Barcelona may not cost as much as £222m this time but would definitely command another mammoth transfer fee from any team involved. Real Madrid are also said to be interested in signing the Brazilian and so is Manchester United.
It’s unlikely we will be seeing any transfer business involving the star soon, but it’s not impossible to strike a deal under our noses and yet again break a record. Besides, records were meant to be broken in the first place.
