Oh yes!! The premier league is back

The English Premier league 2018-19 matchday 1 is finally here, it was definitely long waited this time with the world cup and the saga in the transfer window leaving fans in suspense and in a state of never-ending guess of what the new season will bring with it for their beloved clubs. Well we are done waiting, it’s time we start kicking.

The new season kicks of with Manchester united going head to head with Leicester city at old Trafford. Both teams have had their share of a frustrated window with Jose coming of short of his desire. Leicester however will be preparing for life without Rihad mahrez who joined Manchester city in the summer transfer. Both team will be without most key players, with Paul pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Jamie Vardy , Harry Maguire and a few more unlikely to feature due to their late involvement in the world cup, a number though may be out due to injury concerns including Nemanja matic, Ander Herrera, Marcus rojo, Sergio Romero and a few others for Manchester united. While Leicester themselves are also well struck with injuries with as many as 7 players out of the match day 1 squad to face united.

Among other big matches to look out for include, Newcastle vs Tottenham as spur begin the new campaign after a non-existent transfer window. Liverpool vs Westham also meets the anfield with jurgen klopp looking to unleash his new squad against the hammers. While new chelsea boss Maurizio sarri begins his season away to Huddersfield.

This year’s match day 1 however kicks off with a super Sunday fixture as new arsenal boss Unai Emery faces a tough test against pep guardiola and reigning champions Manchester city at the Emirates stadium. Both managers are quite familiar faces to each other, so the fixture is bound to be a befitting closing mark to an opening ceremony for every football fan who has been patiently waiting for the return of the premier league.

The premier league is back and as exciting as ever and this time there are no favourites, just the best winners and the worst losers.
